Textile finishing company Melapret has more than 50 years of experience in various innovative textile treatment methods.

Melapret is a family business that has specialized in textile finishing for three generations. The story begins on July 24, 1969, when Godelieve Van der Loo founded the company. With her passion for quality and deep understanding of textiles, she laid the foundation for a company that would grow into a well-established name in the industry.

The next step in Melapret’s growth came thanks to a close-knit second generation. Marleen Van Raemdonck took care of the accounting and administrative organization, giving the company a solid and well-structured foundation. Luc Van Esbroeck and Martine Van Raemdonck were closely involved with production and customers: they formed the connecting link between technical processes, quality, and clients’ expectations. Around them were also Gerry and Mira Van Raemdonck, who played an important role in the day-to-day operations. Their presence in the company and their support in production ensured continuity, flexibility, and a warm family spirit within the business. Thanks to their commitment, Melapret remained a place where collaboration, trust, and practical expertise were central.

Today, Melapret is proudly led by David and Kelly Van Esbroeck. As the third generation, they continue their family’s life’s work with a forward-looking vision, a strong focus on quality, and a deep appreciation for the traditions that have shaped Melapret into what it is today. They combine modern entrepreneurship with the family character that has defined the company for decades. Luc, Marleen, Martine, and Mira remain actively involved in Melapret’s operations.
